Brenda Guidry

Cecilia - A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 AM, Wednesday, April 3, 2024, at Pellerin Funeral Home in Cecilia for Brenda Marie Guidry, 64, who passed away on March 27, 2024, at her residence.

A visitation will take place at the funeral home in Cecilia on Tuesday from 9:30 am to 9:00 pm and will continue on Wednesday from 8:00 am to 10:45 am.

A rosary will be prayed at 7:00 pm on Tuesday.

Father Greg Cormier will officiate at the funeral service. Readers will be Rebekah Guidry and Gracie Derise.  

Interment will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery.

Brenda Begnaud Guidry was born August 1, 1959.  She would later have four siblings that she loved deeply.  Brenda was a tomboy and loved to race and play football with the boys.    She was 15 years old when she fell in love with Billy Guidry, and it remained that way until she closed her eyes for the last time. She was a graduate of Cecilia High School, Class of 1977.   It was in August of the same year that her and Billy were married.  She prided herself on being the #1 prankster in the family and Billy was often on the receiving end. They would later have three children: Brittney, Blaise and Benjamin.

Brenda was not only a devoted wife and mother, but she was also devoted to her work and her faith. Her work ethic was unmatched. She started Brenco Finance in Breaux Bridge in 1998 and grew a clientele that she loved and respected deeply. She greeted everyone with a smile, a genuine "How are you?" and created many life-long friendships through her work.

Brenda's world revolved around quality time with Billy and her children. Brenda adored her children and beamed with pride for each of their individual accomplishments. Her hobbies included joy-riding in the truck or Corvette with Billy, going to the MayLay, pulling pranks, going camping with their friends and spending quality time with her kids. She never missed an opportunity to celebrate life!  There's nothing she loved more than having everyone together.

Brenda never met a stranger and to know her was to love her. You could bet you'd be greeted with a huge smile, kiss and an "I Love You" even if it was the first time you met her.

The Guidry family would like to extend a very special thank you to all of their family and friends who have reached out during this time. They would like to thank the various medical teams at OLGMC and the Cardiology Team at CIS that were involved in her care throughout the last 8 years. They would especially like to thank Dr. Warren Degatur for his dedication to her well-being and the exceptional care she received from his staff.

She is survived by her husband who she was married to for 47 years but together for 50 years, William (Billy) Guidry; mother, Linda LeBlanc; sons, Blaise Guidry (Rebekah) and Benjamin Guidry (Gracie); daughter, Brittney Guidry; brothers, Lynn LeBlanc (Tracy), Nicky Begnaud (Nicole), and Gene Coussan (Bridget); sister, Toni Gerami (Gary); grandchildren, Cohen John Theriot and Bennett Matthieu Jon Guidry; step-mother, Barbara Begnaud; and her fur babies, Pimon, River, Regina and Phoebe.

She is preceded in death by her father, Gary Begnaud; brother, Sean Leblanc; step-father, Tommy LeBlanc; granddaughter, Angel Guidry Theriot; grandparents, Josephine and Herman Roberts; and her in-laws, Lester and Ida Guidry.

Pallbearers will be Blaise Guidry, Benjamin Guidry, Cohen Theriot, Nicky Begnaud, Lynn LeBlanc, and Carroll Huval.

Honorary pallbearers will be Bennett Guidry, Giles Gerami, Grant Gerami, Gary Gerami, and Nicholas Begnaud.
