Breaux Bridge - A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 am Wednesday, September 30, 2026, at St. Bernard Catholic Church honoring the life of Brenda Pellerin Theriot, 65, who passed away Saturday, September 1, 2026, in Florida.

A visitation will take place at St. Bernard Catholic Church on Wednesday, September 30, 2026 from 9:00 am until 10:00 am. 

A Rosary will be prayed at 10:00 am.

Rev. Garrett McIntyre will officiate at the Funeral Mass. Readers will be Neil "Sam" Melancon and Jesse Thibodeaux, Jr. Gift bearers will be Sheri Bajat and Theresa Dupuis.

Burial will follow at St. Bernard Cemetery No. 2.

Born on June 17, 1961, Brenda was a bright and thoughtful woman who made a lasting impression on those who knew her. She was valedictorian and was known for being very smart, qualities that remained evident throughout her life and work.

Brenda built a career marked by skill and dedication. She worked at Cargill Salt as a computer specialist and in accounting. She also worked at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette as an IT specialist. In each role, she brought knowledge, care, and steady commitment.

In her younger years, Brenda played tennis and enjoyed swimming. She also loved growing roses and flowers, finding beauty and peace in caring for them. She was very quiet and kept to herself, yet she had a big heart that no one could forget.

Brenda will be remembered with love by all who knew her. Her intelligence, gentle nature, and caring heart will remain in the memories of those whose lives she touched.

She is survived by her husband of 38 years, Ken Theriot; her children, John Dupuis, Jr. (Hannah Riseley-White) and Amy D. Trahan (Hunter); two granddaughters, Maya Dupuis and Annabelle Liuzza; her mother, Melanie Olivier; father, Jerry Pellerin (Janel); sister, Jennifer Melancon (Neil "Sam" Melancon; step siblings, Howard Vest (Donna), Tracie Vest Andrews, Cynthia Dore' (Scott), Seana Berard (Ted), Randy Sonnier (Paula), and Sandy Sonnier (Misty); and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

She is preceded in death by her brother, Roland Pellerin.

Urn bearers will be Jennifer Melancon, Neil "Sam" Melancon and Randy Dupuis.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the family to assist with memorial and funeral expenses.
