A native and lifelong resident of New Iberia, Mr. Borres was born on December 27, 1954, to the late Melvin and Rhella “Rae” Champagne Borres. He worked all his life as a welder, taking great pride in his work and craftsmanship. Brian was always very precise and creative. No matter what he was working on, he would build it to last. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and listening to music. On Saturday mornings, you could find him listening to KBON Radio.
Brian always had a great memory, especially with people’s names and special dates. He could recall so many events, in detail, from the past. He loved taking care of and spoiling his cat, “MiMi”. He was the only one who she would have anything to do with. No one else could even pet her.
Survivors include his wife, Priscilla Landry Borres of New Iberia; children, Brian Borres, Jr. (Kim) of Baker, Brock Borres (Brynn) of Loreauville, and Natasha Borres of New Iberia; brother, Rickey Borres, Sr.; sisters, Trinda Borres-Viator (Roy) and Raevin Borres-Percle (Joey); grandchildren, Chase Borres, Mary Michelet, Kainnah Borres, Lainnah Borres, Max Borres, Emma Louviere (Blake), and Bennett Arnaud; and a great grandson, Evan Michelet.
In addition to his parents, Brian was preceded in death by his brothers, Chuck Borres and Allen Borres, and a grandson, Hayes Borres.
Pallbearers will be Brian Borres, Jr., Chase Borres, Brock Borres, Jude Borres, Rickey Borres, and Joey Percle.
Honorary pallbearers include Max Borres, Braxton Borres, Nicholas Borres, and Luke Borres.
