Breaux Bridge - A Funeral Service will be held at 10:00 AM, Wednesday, July 8, 2026, at Pellerin Funeral Home in Breaux Bridge for Britnye Mechelle Devalcourt, 38, who passed away on July 1, 2026, at Ochsner St. Martin Hospital.

A visitation will take place at Pellerin Funeral Home in Breaux Bridge on Tuesday from 2:00 PM to 9:00 PM and will continue on Wednesday from 8:00 AM until service time.

A Rosary will be prayed at 6:00 PM on Tuesday.

Rev. Michael Richard will officiate at the funeral service.

Britnye had a smile that could light up any room. Her laughter was contagious, and she had a way of making everyone around her feel welcome and loved. She brought joy wherever she went, and her kindness, love, and beautiful spirit will be remembered by all who knew her. She spent her life surrounded by her family and friends. She was a beloved daughter, sister, and mother.

She cherished not only the art of cooking, but also the joy it brought to her family and friends. A true adventurer at heart, Britnye found immense happiness in fishing and spending time on the water, where she created lasting memories with her loved ones.

She is survived by her parents, John Kevin Devalcourt and Jody Devalcourt; children, Curtis Kapel, Lyric Kapel and Layne Kapel; siblings, Nikole Pearce (Robert) and John Devalcourt II (Dayna); and her nieces and nephews, Wade Thibodeaux, Kim Pellegrin, Robert Pearce, III, and Rory Pearce.

She is preceded in death by her grandparents, Jeanne Devalcourt, Shirley Gautreaux, and Camille Geautreaux.
