Breaux Bridge - It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Carla Jean Marceaux Boudreaux who departed from this earth on May 3, 2025, at the age of 69. Carla exemplified selflessness and love, dedicating her life to the Lord, her family, and the local community.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 AM, Thursday, May 8, 2025, at St. Bernard Catholic Church.
A visitation will take place at the funeral home in Breaux Bridge on Wednesday, May 7, 2025, from 2:00 PM to 9:00 PM and will continue on Thursday, May 8, 2025, from 8:00 AM to 10:30 AM.
A Rosary will be prayed at 7:00 PM on Wednesday.
Rev. Garrett McIntyre will officiate at the Funeral Mass and Concelebrants will be Rev. Donald Pelous, Rev. Joe Campion, Rev. Michael Champagne, Rev. Michael Richard, Rev. Greg Chauvin, Rev. Reed Bellingham, Rev. John Joseph, Rev. Garrett Savoie, and Rev. Randy Courville, Homilist.
Readers will be Madalynn Boudreaux and Zöe Boudreaux. Gift bearers will be her grandchildren.
Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery in Lafayette.
Carla leaves behind a legacy of love, strength, and unwavering devotion that will continue to inspire generations to come. As a grandmother, Carla was nothing short of extraordinary. Her grandchildren were the light of her life, and she cherished every moment spent with them, whether reading stories, engaging in crafts, or playing with Play-Doh. Her home was always open, filled with warmth, joy, and the delightful sounds of children at play.
Carla's selfless spirit extended beyond her family. As a devout Catholic, she was always active in her church parish of St. Bernard Catholic Church. A true believer in prayer, she would spend hours of her day praying for others. She served the homebound by visiting them and bringing Communion weekly. She was a servant to the Lord who touched the lives of many, leaving a lasting impact on those who had the privilege of knowing her.
Carla is survived by her loving husband Herbert "Herbie" Boudreaux to whom she was married to for almost 42 years. Her ten beloved children and their spouses; Christina (David) Crain, Jake (Heather) Boudreaux, Michelle (Craig) Faul, Lori (Michael) Naquin, Sarah (Brodie) Doré, Kimberly (Justin) Clause, Brother Bernard "Jeff" Boudreaux, Jon Boudreaux, James (Madalynn) Boudreaux, Justin (Miriam) Boudreaux, along with her 21 treasured grandchildren, grandchildren, Cicily, Ruth, Lily, Dominic, Zöe, Bailey, Ashbey, Wesley, Ethan, Charlee, Aubrey, Hector, Elise, Ivie, Iris, Benjamin, Lawson, Laiklynn, Lionel, Vivian, and Jack, who will forever hold her memory close to their hearts, and her three sisters, Jo Duplechin, Patti Adams, and Carleen Strader.
Carla was preceded in death by her beloved mother, Elise Richard Marceaux; her father, Alson Jean Marceaux; her brother, John "Chip" Moreaux; and her first husband Steve Sonnier.
Pallbearers will be her 5 sons and oldest grandson, Ethan.
The family would like to thank the staff of the Hospice of Acadiana's Calcutta House and all the friends and family who have shown kindness and support during her illness.
