St. Martinville Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM Tuesday, January 7, 2014 at St. Martin de Tours Catholic Church in St. Martinville for Carlyle Daniel Robichaux, 68, who died on January 5, 2014 at Dauterive Hospital in New Iberia.
Entombment will follow at St. Michael Mausoleum in St. Martinville.
A gathering of family and friends will be Tuesday from 7:30 AM until 10:45 AM at Pellerin Funeral Home in St. Martinville.
Mr. Robichaux was a native of New Iberia who graduated from Catholic High School in New Iberia and Santa Fe College in New Mexico. During his life, Carlyle taught Biology and later became a religious coordinator for Nativity of Our Lady Catholic Church. His hobbies included learning about science, photography, hunting and cooking.
Mr. Robichaux is survived by four children: John Robichaux of California, Paul Robichaux of Washington D.C., Peter Robichaux of Chicago, Mary Robichaux of North Carolina, a granddaughter Zoe Robichaux of North Carolina and a companion JoAnn Miller of Abbeville.
He is also survived by his mother, Ida Mae Judice Robichaux of St. Martinville and nine siblings: Brenda Oubre of New Iberia, Rose Waguespack of Texas, Pauline Duplantis of St. Martinville, Roland J Robichaux RPh of St. Martinville, Kathy Whatley of Iowa, Joan Robichaux of Coteau, Dr. Chris Robichaux of Breaux Bridge, Dr.Lonnie Robichaux of New Iberia and Lisa Lormand of Lafayette.
He was preceded in death by his father, Roland Robert Robichaux and one sibling Wayne Robichaux.
Pellerin Funeral Home of St. Martinville is in charge of arrangements.
