Breaux Bridge - A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 am, on Tuesday, May 31, 2016, at St. Bernard Catholic Church in Breaux Bridge, for Carrie Broussard Baudoin, 92, who passed away on Saturday, May 28, 2016.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed at the funeral home from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm on Monday, and continue on Tuesday at 8:00 am until 9:30 am. A rosary will be prayed at 7:00 pm on Monday.
Rev. David Broussard will officiate at the Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will follow at St. Bernard Cemetery No. 2 in Breaux Bridge.
Carrie was a native of Breaux Bridge and a resident of Lafayette. She was a 1945 graduate of SLI, now the University of Louisiana at Lafayette. She was an exceptional mother, cook, seamstress, and domestic engineer. She was a teacher at Shreveport Nursery School, New Iberia High School, Cecilia High School and a substitute teacher at Breaux Bridge High School. She loved to travel and to go to the casino with her friends. She was a member of the Homemakers Club under the leaderships of three ladies who were all Home Demonstration Agents and she toured all over the United States on tours organized by these ladies. She will be deeply missed by all whose lives she touched.
She is survived by her daughters, Gizelle Chauffe and husband Terry and Paula Brasseaux and husband Timothy; sons, Peter Baudoin and wife Donna, Sammy Baudoin and mate Gwen Rieber, Tony Baudoin and wife Mary Ellen Corry and Bruce Baudoin and wife Jeanette; grandchildren, Zachary, Jonn Pierre, Brittany, Justin, Grant, Connor, Carter and Cooper Baudoin, Ryan Chauffe, Ben Usie and Ethan and Seth Brasseaux; great-grandchildren, Katherine Chauffe and Vivienne Baudoin; and sisters, Ruby Robin and Beverly Theriot.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Roy Paul Baudoin; parents, Michel and Clemence "Bella" Bergeron Broussard; brothers, Ray and Clifford Broussard; and sister, Genevieve Ayo.
