Born on March 4, 1955 , Cecile was a native and lifelong resident of New Iberia . Her passions in life were gardening and caring for her pets. Survivors include her husband, Cliff Ellender, Sr. of New Iberia; her father, Daniel Anthony 'Dell' Thompson of Tulsa, Oklahoma; her son, Cliff 'Skipper' Ellender, Jr. of Boston, Massachusetts, her daughter, Meredith Ellender of New Iberia; her brother, Dan Thompson of Hemphill, Texas; her half sister, Danielle Thompson of Tulsa, Oklahoma; her mother-in-law, Joan Derouen Ellender of New Iberia. She was preceded in death by her mother, Theresa Mae Hulin Thompson; her grandparents, Deynoodt Emily Derouen Hulin and Amead Blanchard Thompson; her father-in-law, Leon 'Mickey' Ellender. A gathering of family and friends will be Friday from 9:00 AM until 11:00 AM at Pellerin Funeral Home in New Iberia .
