Celicia Marie Viola McCoy was born in Echo, Louisiana on January 11, 1938, to the late Joseph and Lessie Guillot Viola, and was a retired beautician. Better known lovingly as "Amma" or "Ms. Sis," she never met a stranger, greeting everyone with her infectious smile and easy conversation. Celicia’s warmth radiated through her nurturing spirit—whether it was her renowned sweet tea that brought family and friends together for Sunday lunches, or her expert skills in the kitchen that made every meal a delightful occasion. Her loved ones will forever treasure the memories of pizza nights filled with laughter and joy.

Ms. Sis found solace and joy in her garden, tending to her flowers with dedication and care. Her passion for gardening reflected her vibrant personality and nurturing soul, as she cultivated beauty both in her garden and in the lives of those around her.

Ms. Sis found immense happiness in going to church and cherishing the friendships she developed there. Each visit was a testament to her loving spirit, as she touched lives with her genuine kindness and compassionate heart. Her love for visiting the grocery store may seem simple, but to Celicia, each trip was an opportunity to connect with others and share smiles.

Amma’s greatest joy came from her family. She excelled in the art of love, having a profound influence on her children and grandchildren. She reveled in the moments spent caring for them, ensuring that each child felt uniquely cherished. The stories they will recount in her absence will echo her love long after her departure.

Mrs. McCoy is survived by her loving husband of 68 years, Docksy McCoy; son, Luke McCoy (Tammy); daughter, Kayla Pere (Mitch); daughter-in-law, Anita McCoy; grandchildren, Michelle McCoy Taylor (Nick), Patrick McCoy (Lori), Mark McCoy, Lanie Kipp (Austin), Taylor Pere, and Alix Pere; great-grandchildren, Collin and Parker Kipp, and Emma Grace Taylor; and sisters, Girlie Mae Mathews and Emma Jean Mathews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Howard Anthony McCoy; and a grandson, Dustin McCoy.

The family would like to express heartfelt appreciation to Acadian Home Care (Trish and Addie); and Heart of Hospice (Zoe) for extraordinary care and compassion.

In lieu of flowers, please make memorial donations to Sis’ favorite charity, St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital; or send a living plant.

Mrs. McCoy will be dearly missed, fondly remembered, and forever cherished. May she rest in peace.
