Chandrashekhar Uchil

New Iberia – Private services will be held at a later date for Chandrashekhar Uchil, 81, who passed away on Friday, July 3, 2026.

Chandrashekhar Uchil was born in Mangalore, India, on June 3, 1945. He had been a resident of New Iberia for the past 50 years, and was a very devout Hindu. Chandrashekhar loved fishing, especially for red snapper. A lover of jazz music, he enjoyed going to the bar with his friends. He also enjoyed audiobooks, western novels, and scratch off Lotto tickets and Reece’s peanut butter cups!

Mr. Uchil is survived by a daughter, Laurie Williams and her husband, Jason of Shelby, Ohio; grandson, Silas Vaughn; and granddaughter, Shelby Vaughn, both of Ohio; and many friends who will miss him dearly.

He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings.

Chandrashekhar will remain in our hearts forever. May he rest in peace.
