Charles J. Hernandez

New Iberia Funeral services will be at 2:30 PM, Thursday, December 5, 2013, at Pellerin Funeral Home in New Iberia, for Charles J. Hernandez, 79, who died on Saturday, November 30, 2013 in New Iberia. Interment will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. Rev. Ed Degeyter will officiate. A gathering of family and friends will be Thursday from 12 Noon until 2:30 PM at Pellerin Funeral Home in New Iberia. A native of Iberia Parish, Mr. Hernandez was born on September 22, 1934, and was the son of Dennis and Naomi Moore Hernandez. He worked for Teledyne Movable Offshore for over 30 years, and enjoyed spending time with his family. Survivors include his daughter, Cathy Leger and husband Kevin of Carencro; sister, Genevieve Ellis and husband James of College Station, Texas; and a granddaughter, Cara Moody. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Carmen LeBlanc Hernandez; a brother, Alvin Hernandez; a sister, Theresa Riggs; and a nephew, Gary Goodrich. Pallbearers will be Kevin Leger, Kansas Hernandez, Al Hernandez, Shaun Hernandez, Curt Riggs, and Matt Hernandez.
