New Iberia - Services will be held at a later date for Charles Edward Migues Jr. 74, who passed away on  Friday, August 4, 2023, in Lafayette.

Charles was born in New Iberia, LA on January 25, 1949, to the late Charles Sr. and Florence Peltier Migues. 

He retired as a Gas Apparatus Technician. With his knowledge and expertise in the oil and gas industry, he made significant contributions to his field. 

Charles enjoyed various hobbies and interests that enriched his life. He was an avid gardener, finding joy in tending to both vegetable gardens and maintaining beautiful flowers and plants. His green thumb was admired by all who visited his garden. He also enjoyed reading, and was particularly intrigued by politics and enjoyed staying informed about current events through sources like Fox News. His thirst for knowledge led him to explore different topics beyond politics, broadening his understanding of the world around him.  Charles's love for cooking was another source of happiness in his life. He delighted in creating delicious meals for family gatherings, putting his heart into every dish he prepared. Above all else, Charles cherished spending time with his family, especially his beloved son Dakota. Their bond was unbreakable and served as a beacon of strength throughout Charles's life. Whether it was sharing laughter over a meal or engaging in heartfelt conversations, their father-son relationship embodied love and companionship. Charles' kind heart, gentle nature, and unwavering dedication will be deeply missed.

Mr. Migues is survived by his loving wife of 28 years, Marian Tracy Migues; son, Dakota Migues; daughter, Heather Migues Romero; three grandchildren, Londyn, William and Nicholas Romero; sisters-in-law, Rita Babin (Ronnie) and Laura Irwin; brother-in-law, Louis Wade Veillion;  nieces, Rachel Hills (Wesley) and Melanie Hebert Cole (John Paul); and a nephew, Chris Veillion. 

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by siblings, Cynthia Migues Hebert (Jesse), Rebecca "Becky" Veillion, and Tommy Miguez.
