Cecilia - A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 2:00 pm on Wednesday, March 10, 2021, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Cecilia for Cheryl Allemond Simon, 65, who passed away on Friday, March 5, 2021, at her son's residence surrounded by her family. ** Due to Covid-19, Cheryl’s family requests that family and friends wear face masks and practice social distancing while attending the visitation and funeral service. The family requests that visiting hours be observed at the funeral home from 2:00 pm until 9:00 pm on Tuesday and continue on Wednesday at 8:00 am until 1:30 pm. A rosary will be prayed at 7:00 pm on Tuesday. Rev. Gregory Cormier will officiate at the Funeral Mass. Cheryl loved her God and attended Mass every Sunday. She enjoyed watching T.V., shopping, (Dollar General, and in Nora's closet), going to the casino, listening music, dancing, and spending time with her family and grandchildren. Cheryl cared about everyone and never met a stranger. She will be remembered for her abundance of energy, love for her family, and her outgoing personality. She is survived by her son, Brandon (Shavaun) Migues of Midland; husband, Tommy Simon; brother, Kim (Francine) Allemond of Henderson; three sisters, Renella Scrantz of Breaux Bridge, Nora (Randy) Broussard of Gueydan, and Caroline (Doug) Calais of Ocala, FL; and five grandchildren, Dylan Miller, Jakob Miguez, Ravyn Miguez, Emmie Miller, and Brandon A. Miguez. She was preceded in death by her parents, Alton Joseph Allemond and Alice Louise Collette Allemond; brother-in-law, Curley Scrantz; and two nephews, Sye Allemond and Shawn Calais. Pallbearers will be Kim Allemond, Dylan Miller, Jakob Miguez, Austin McNew, Chip Marlow, Stacy Thibodeaux, Brylee Thibodeaux. Honorary pallbearers will be Ravyn Miguez. In lieu of flowers, the family request that donation be made to help defray the cost of funeral expenses.
