Chester Guidry

Cecilia- Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., on Monday, December 20, 2010, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Cecilia, for Chester Paul Guidry, 85, who passed away on Tuesday, December 14, 2010 at Lafayette General Medical Center. Interment will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery in Cecilia. Fr. Gary Schexnayder, will conduct the services. Scriptures will be read by Gloria 'T-Glo' Richard and Becky Domingue. Gift Bearers will be Heidi Delambre, Carolyn Serrette, and Brenda Dore. Chester enjoyed being surrounded by his family, who provided Love and Compassion to his well being, while he in return, gave a true meaning of life to all who knew him. His past time was enjoyed when playing 'Casino' with anyone who could lose. Survivors include his sister, June Leonard; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Carrie Guidry; his parents, Jean Batiste and Mozella Blanchard Guidry; his brothers, George Guidry and Mentor Guidry; his sisters, Betty Robin, Ezaur Kidder, and Florence Schexnayder; his nephews, Roddy Richard and Stephen Schexnayder; and his nieces, Phylis Dupuis, and Linda Taylor. The family requests that visiting hours be observed from 7 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. on Monday, December 20, 2010. Pallbearers will be Geary Robin, Darrell Serrette, Jackie Leonard, Gary Leonard, Dale Schexnayder, and Chris Kidder. Pellerin Funeral Homeof Cecilia(337.667.6464) is in charge of arrangements.
