Chris "James" Laviolette

St. Martinville - A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 9:30 am, on Saturday, December 7, 2013, at St. Martin de Tours Catholic Church in St. Martinville, for Chris James Laviolette, 56, who passed away on Thursday, December 5, 2013. The family requests that visiting hours be observed from 10:00 am until 10:00 pm on Friday, and continue at 7:00 am until 9:00 am on Saturday, at Pellerin Funeral Home in St. Martinville. A rosary will be recited at 7:00 pm on Friday. Rev. Ed Degeyter will officiate at the Funeral Mass. Scriptures will be read by Michael Turnage and Melissa Babineaux. Gift Bearers will be Lacey McCarthy, Gabby Noel, and Nicole Quebedeaux. Interment will follow at St. Bernard Cemetery No. 2 in Breaux Bridge. Chris was employed by Martin Chevrolet for many years and enjoyed spending time maintaining the carwash. He was a devout Catholic who enjoyed attending Mass every week with his wife and was a member of the Knights of Columbus. Chris was meticulous about his yard and loved tending to it. Chris was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, and a loyal friend to many, who will be deeply missed by everyone who knew and loved him. He is survived by his loving wife of 23 years, Marlene "Nan" Laviolette of Parks; two sons, Ross (Shannon) Noel, and Todd (Gabby) Noel, all of Breaux Bridge; his daughter, Lacey (Richard) McCarthy of Cincinnati, OH; two sisters, Shirley Laviolette of Broussard and Tena (Michael) Turnage of Lafayette; his brother, Zerven (Rebecca) Laviolette of Breaux Bridge; four grandchildren, Trey Moran, Kynnedi Noel, Payden McCarthy, and Arielle Littlepage; two godchildren, Nicole Quebedeaux and Peter Turnage; and numerous uncles and aunts and nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, Junius and Edia Theriot Laviolette; his paternal grandparents, Alexis and Anna Laviolette; and maternal grandparents, Romain and Ada Theriot. Pallbearers will be Ross Noel, Todd Noel, Chris M. Laviolette, Peter Turnage, Richard McCarthy, and Darrel "T-Colo" Theriot. Honorary pallbearers will be Trey Moran, Kynnedi Noel, and Payden McCarthy. Pellerin Funeral Home, 112 New Market St., St. Martinville, Louisiana 70582, (337-394-9121), is in charge of arrangements.
