Christine Guidry Bodin was born in Jeanerette, Louisiana on December 25, 2025, to the late Whitney Guidry, Sr. and Emily Martin Guidry. She was an avid baseball fan (college and MBL), but was partial to the Yankees, Dodgers, and Cincinnati Reds. She also cheered on the New Orleans Saints, whom she affectionately referred to as the “Suffering Saints!”
A great cook, Mrs. Bodin was known for her tamales, cabbage rolls and pralines. She loved the simple things in life, including picking pecans, cutting grass, playing bingo, cards, Pokeno, the Lotto and going to the casino. Red cardinals were her favorite birds to watch, and she enjoyed collecting them.
Above all else, she cherished time spent with her family. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, sister, and friend who will be deeply missed.
Mrs. Bodin is survived by two daughters, Belinda Eichor (Mark), and Crystal Lewis (Wilson “Bam” Lewis); grandchildren, Dustin Guidry (Krystyna), Hailey Guidry, Warren J. Bodin (Alyssa), Mariah Bob (Mike), and Jermaine Bob, Jr. (Rylie); great-grandchildren, Bentley Guidry, Brantley Guidry, Elizabeth Hengsen, Dustin Guidry, Jr., Wesley Bodin, Nellie Bodin, Renleigh Bob, Ma’Lani Sparrow and MaKhi Sparrow; and brothers, Whitney “Sonny” Guidry, Jr. (Vicky), and Paul Guidry (Cindy).
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband of 43 years, Warren M. Bodin; daughter, Jessica Guidry; sisters, Norma Broussard, Claire Darby (and husband Jerry), Louise Bourque, and Jeanette Guidry; godchild, Vanessa Landry; son-in-law, Jermaine Bob, Sr.; and parents-in-law, Anthony and Nellie Bodin.
Pallbearers will be Dustin Guidry, Warren Bodin, Jermaine Bob, Jr., Wilson “Bam” Lewis, Michael “Mike” Sparrow, Jr., and Mark Eichor.
Honorary pallbearers are Bentley Guidry, Brantley Guidry, Dustin Guidry, Jr., Wesley Bodin, and MaKhi Sparrow.
The family would like to give special thanks to Southern Grace Hospice and Dr. Robert Hankenhof for their extraordinary care and compassion.
Christine’s kind spirit will remain in our hearts. May she rest in peace.
