Christine Wade Faulk

New Iberia – Private services were held July 10th, 2024 for Christine Wade Faulk, 73, who passed away peacefully on Tuesday, July 2, 2024 with the love of her family surrounding her.

A lifelong area resident, Christine was born on June 3, 1951, to the late Jerry Clifford and Rita Bergeaux Wade, and was a 1969 graduate of New Iberia Senior High, where she met her high school sweetheart and husband Phil Faulk. She worked alongside Phil as a secretary for Faulk’s Auto Accessories until she handed the role off to her children.

Christine grew up in a large family and being the oldest of 10 siblings laid the foundation for her nurturing spirit. The word “family” meant the world to her. She had a huge heart and was always there when we needed her the most, offering support, wisdom and love without end.

Christine loved to spend her time reading, watching movies and she sure did love listening to music. She enjoyed tailgating and attending the New Orleans Saints games. She was an avid supporter of St. Jude’s and found great joy giving to organizations that were close to her heart. She also found great pleasure spending weekends at Cypremort Point and never missed capturing a photo of the sunset. She loved being outdoors and spending time with her family. She always looked forward to their yearly beach trips. If she wasn’t doing any of those things, you can bet she was SHOPPING! She sure loved all those shopping trips with her children.

Christine cherished her role as a beloved grandmother and her favorite title was certainly “Grammie”

Her family will remember her as a nurturing soul, always ready with a comforting word and a warm spirit. She always taught us above all else “Be Kind.”

She is survived by her husband of 53 years, Phil Faulk; children, Chad Michael Faulk, Jamie Faulk Hebert and husband, David, and Josie Faulk Norris and husband Jonathan; her precious grandchildren, Levi Norris, Sawyer Hebert, River Hebert, Lucy Norris and; step grandson, Hayden Norris; siblings, Sue Greig (Errol), Angela Wade, Jerry Ralph Wade, Joey Wade (Cherylin), Jenny Escuriex (David), and Melanie Greenwood (Sean); and a brother-in-law, Steve Tink. As well as numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by sisters, Jamie Wade, Joy Lopez, and Annie Tink. Sister-in-law, Beverly Thornton; father and mother-in-law, Jorsey and Audrey Faulk; brothers-in-law, Craig Faulk, Dana Faulk, and Byron Faulk.

The world got a lot dimmer that day, but oh how heaven is now a whole lot brighter.

The family would like to give special thanks to all her sweet caregivers; Especially DeAngles Freeman, and also to Hospice of Acadiana for their kindness and support.
