Catahoula- Christopher "Chris" Lynn Ibach, beloved husband, father, son and brother, passed away peacefully in his home on September 22, 2025. Per Chris' wishes, a cremation will take place and a Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, September 26, 2025, at 1:00 pm at St. Rita Catholic Church in Catahoula.
Burial will follow at Our Lady of the Lake Cemetery.
Fr. Bill Melancon will officiate the mass. Readers will be Ava Ibach and Adelyn Bauer.
Chris was born on July 11, 1970 in Winfield, Kansas. The son of Charlene (Schwintz) and Garrah Ibach. He graduated from Arkansas City Kansas High School in 1988. After high school graduation, he continued his education at Cowley County College in Arkansas City. In May of 1990, Chris joined the United States Navy and was honorably discharged in May of 1997. After leaving the Navy, he settled in the Dallas, Texas area working for various electronic companies.
Chris and Jaime met in Dallas. They were united in marriage on March 20, 2008, and resided in the Dallas area where they were blessed with the birth of their daughter Ava Elle. They then moved back to Jaime's home town of St. Martinville, Louisiana, and were blessed with the birth of their son, Colt Christopher Douglas. Chris worked for Walmart Distribution, and First Solar, Inc.
Chris' favorite times were spent with his family and friends. Whether he was on the sidelines of his children's sporting events, cheering on his Kansas City Chiefs, or gathered with family and friends, his radiant smile and booming voice filled with pride and love could be heard and felt by all around him. His family was his pride and joy.
Chris is survived by his wife, Jaime; daughters Ava Elle Ibach and Bree (Chance) Barnes; son, Colt Christopher Douglas Ibach; father, Garrah (Kristan) Ibach; mother in law, Annette Louviere; father in law, Daniel Louviere; sister, Farrah Ibach; sisters in law, Charisse (Scot) Trahan, Danielle Louviere, and Dawn (Jolene) Spice; brother in law, Trey Louviere; grandchildren, Oaklynn and Lane Barnes; nephews, Garrah Bauer, Tate (Kenzie) Courville and Beau Courville; nieces, Adelyn Bauer, Kristen (Mike) Hulin, Cassie (Joe) Plauche, Carly (Hunter) Trahan, Oakley Louviere, Summer (Cleo) Babin, and Shani Touchet; uncle, Dan McAdam; aunt, Susie (Ancel) Sapp; and many other family members and friends who felt like family.
Chris was preceded in death by his mother, Charlene Ibach; his late wife, Lisa Moses; maternal grandparents, Lois and Charles Schwintz; paternal grandparents, Douglas and Helen Ruth Ibach; aunt, Jeannette McAdam; and uncle, Larry Schwintz.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Chris' name to St. Jude Children's Hospital, or donations may be made to the family for his children.
Pellerin Funeral Home (337-332-2111) is in charge of arrangements.
