Claudell Karen Mitchell Mallery was born on July 14,1957 in Lafayette, Louisiana to Jeffery and Agnes (Hypolite) Mitchell. She graduated from St. Martinville Senior High School, where she was a proud member of the Class of 1975. She retired on August 31, 2018, after 33 years of dedicated service with the United States Postal Service. Prior to that, she also worked at Martin Mills for a short period of time.

Claudell was a faithful parishioner of Notre Dame Catholic Church and was a former member of the church’s social justice committee. She was also a member of the NALC Union Branch 988.

She leaves to cherish her precious memories with her only beloved daughter, Aleasha Mallery-Landor (Nathaniel), her dearest son, Marquel Mitchell (Amber), and bonus daughter, Ashphet Mallery.

Whether you were family, friend, or stranger, Claudell referred to you as “Boo”, which was her favorite term of endearment. She was an extremely family oriented woman. She will always be remembered for her kind spirit and generous nature; always putting the needs of others before her own. She enjoyed going to the casino, spending time with her family, shopping for others, and, most of all, an avid traveller.

Spoiling her grandchildren was the highlight of her life. Claudell is also survived by three grandkids whom she adored so dearly: Kameron Landor, Kristyn Landor, and Armani Mitchell.

Bae-Bae leaves her everlasting love with her three siblings: doting brother, Timmy Mitchell, Sr.(Christina) and loving sisters, Gail Mitchell and Sandra Mitchell.

She also leaves to cherish beautiful memories: devoted godparents, Allen Batiste and Hilda Batiste, and her caring godsons Jeramy Mitchell and Jody Guilliam.

Claudell had such a big heart that she reared her nieces and nephews as if they were very own. Therefore, she leaves them her eternal love: Shonna, Jeramy, Terrion, Timmy Jr., Albertine, Solinsky, Jeffery, Travis, and Jamal.

The bonds she forged through countless cousins, co-workers, neighbors, friends, classmates, and her best friends: Barbara Harrison, Paulette Cormier, Zena Sylvester, Linda Guilliam and Clara Charles will endure forever.

She also leaves to cherish fond memories of her with her aunts and uncles: Mildred Hypolite, Lillie Hypolite, Joseph Hypolite (Antoinette), Elnora Phillips, Allen Batiste (Genieve), Steven Batiste, Sr. (Menda), Robert Batiste (Juliette), Felton Batiste (Pauline), Hilda Batiste, Charlene Batiste, Thelma Batiste, Theresa Batiste, Mary Alice Batiste, and Barolyn Batiste.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Jefferey and Agnes Mitchell, her niece, Alisa Mitchell, her maternal and paternal grandparents, and a host of aunts and uncles.

Pallbearers will be Jody Guilliam, Jeramy Mitchell, Jeffery Mitchell, Terrion Mitchell, Timmy Mitchell, Jr. and Jalen Joseph.
