Clovis worked different jobs in his life, choosing auto mechanic as his career. Working at Louisiana Motors for 10 years, then moving to Service Chevrolet in 1951, retiring after 38 years of service he was classified as a General Motors Master Technician. His hobbies were duck and rabbit hunting and fishing for bass and bream. His favorite hobby was dancing (he loved that Zydeco music). He enjoyed teaching the younger generation how to Zydeco and waltz. Many had the opportunity to learn and dance with him in different places, but Nu-Nus stomping ground was Angelles Whiskey River Landing on the levee in Henderson. Nu-Nus greatest enjoyment was his family. He loved spending time with his children and their families. He would take the time to visit his sister and her family. Nothing made him happier than dancing the night away in the same place with his son. Clovis leaves behind many beautiful memories and lots of love for his children, Roy LeBlanc and his companion, Sharan Denais and Celeste LeBlanc Pontiff; three grandchildren, Jamie LeBlanc and his wife, Patty, Jennifer LeBlanc Roberts, and Mickey Pontiff; five great grandchildren Meguel, Macey, Rorey and Gracey Roberts, and Drake LeBlanc; one great-great grandson, Felix Sanders; one sister, Hazel Johnson; three godchildren, Paul Johnson, Debbie Thibodeaux, and Dale Duplechien; numerous nieces and nephews; and all the friends he met dancing. He is preceded in death by his loving wife of 49 years at time of her passing, May 18, 1998, Inez Courville LeBlanc; his stepfather and mother, Alfred & Ada Degeyter Melancon; his sister, Isabelle LeBlanc; an infant brother, John Allen Melancon; two step-sisters, Marie Alzire Guidry and Bernice Melancon Leath; his son-in-law, Howard Pontiff; and his grandson-in-law, Bernard Roberts. Pallbearers will be Roy LeBlanc, Jamie LeBlanc, Mickey Pontiff, Meguel Roberts, Rorey Roberts and Drake LeBlanc. Honorary pallbearers will be Macey Roberts, Felix Sanders, Gracey Roberts, Paul Johnson, Dale Duplechien, Terry Angelle, Kelly Denais, Susan and Liz Griffin, and all his friends and dancing buddies at Whiskey River. The LeBlanc family wants to thank Drs. Warren and Ben Degatur for their time and loving care for Clovis. Roy and Celeste want to express their appreciation to Alpha Hall staff. Guys, we had good days and bad, but it was all for the love and compassion we had for Clovis. Thanks! To Debbay Thibodeaux from your parrin and your cousins, thanks for all you have done for all of us. Pellerin Funeral Home of Henderson (337.228-2218), is in charge of arrangements.
