St. Martinville - A Memorial Service will be held on Monday, April 6, 2026, at 10:00 AM at Union Baptist Church for Cody Joseph Anthony, 63, who passed away on March 30, 2026, at his residence.
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Cody Joseph Anthony, Sr., affectionately known as "Shoes," "Pimp C," "Parrain," "Brother-in-law," "Unc,", "Uncle Cody", and "My Brother". Born on December 11, 1962, in Lafayette, Louisiana, Cody lived life on his own terms, embodying a spirit that brought joy and laughter to all who knew him.
Cody was a dedicated father, survived by his two sons, Cody Anthony and Corey Anthony, who will forever cherish the time they had with him. A proud resident of Loreauville, Louisiana, Cody was known for his infectious energy and his ability to light up any gathering. Whether he was sharing stories, spending quality time with family and friends, or embarking on adventurous solo trips, Cody epitomized the essence of living fully and joyfully.
His love for the racetrack was rivaled only by his passion for customized vehicles, which he proudly "pimped out" as a reflection of his vibrant personality. Cody made it a point to give back to the community, frequently visiting food pantries to gather provisions for those less fortunate, always aiming to lend a helping hand.
Cody found peace in the simple pleasures of life-cooking wildlife in his beloved black pot, soaking in the thrill of boxing matches with his favorite fighter, Roy Jones, and getting lost in western movies and street outlaws until he drifted off to sleep. His zest for life and unwavering spirit will be sorely missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
He is survived by his sons, Cody Anthony and Corey Anthony; and his godchildren, Rochanda Allen and Clifford Anthony, Jr.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Horace Anthony, Sr., and Mazel Anthony; paternal grandparents, Willie and Josephine Anthony; maternal grandparents, Clarence Sr. and Lily Mae Alexander; sister, Roskanda Anthony; niece, A'Johni Anthony; uncles, Alton, Joseph, Ernest, Wilton, and Joseph Anthony, Clarence Alexander, Jr., and William Youman; aunts, Savannah Youman, Mary Belva Anthony, Juanita Anthony, and Hazel Chamber; and his late wife, Charlotte Anthony.
Pellerin Funeral Home (337-332-2111) is in charge of arrangements.
