With heavy hearts, we remember and honor our beloved baby boy, Colten—affectionately known as “Coco” by his family—who was just 12 years old. Though his life was far too short, the love, joy, and light he brought into this world will live on forever.
Colten was smart, loving, and friendly—someone who could brighten a room just by being in it. He had a big heart and cared deeply about life and the people he loved. He especially enjoyed spending time with his family, particularly his siblings, always joking and picking with one another. He was fiercely protective of and deeply bonded to his baby sister, whom he absolutely adored.
Colten also loved playing on his iPad—watching YouTube or playing Roblox. He would often say, “Leave me alone so I can play,” a memory that now brings both laughter and tears.
Colten dreamed big and believed in himself. He talked often about becoming a YouTuber and had hopes, plans, and a future full of imagination and creativity. His curiosity and confidence reminded us all to dream fearlessly and love fully.
Though our Colten gained his wings on his birthday, he will always be our baby boy. His smile, laughter, kindness, and beautiful spirit will live on in every memory and in every heart that loved him. We carry him with us in every heartbeat, every memory, and every moment of love.
Colten leaves behind to cherish his memories his loving parents, Scott Luquette and Desire’ DeRise; his siblings, Alexis Clement (CJ), Cullin Chevalon, Brycen and Alyse Luquette; his maternal grandfather, Robert DeRise; his paternal grandmother, Debra Turner; his paternal great-grandmother, Ella Turner; and a host of aunts, uncles, and extended family who loved him dearly.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandmother, Annette Parquette DeRise, and his paternal grandfather, Dunice (Bozo) Luquette.
Forever loved. Forever missed. Forever 12.
