Connie is survived by her devoted husband of 57 years, John Harvey Thomassee; her daughters, Jeannine (AJ) Menard and Christine (Wes) Parks; her son, Jonathan (Ginger) Thomassee; her siblings, Janis (Anthony) Trahan, Louis Wyatt, Jr., and Teddy (Michelle) Wyatt; and her grandchildren, Aaron Menard, Colleen Cormier, Lane Parks, Ethan Parks, Joel Thomassee, and Jade Thomassee. She was also a proud great-grandmother to Ky, Cole, Kip, Cali, and Tatum.
Connie was preceded in death by her parents, Edmond Guidroz and Virginia Wyatt.
Those who knew Connie will remember her as elegant, determined, and full of life. She had a strong will and a fearless spirit.
As a proud member of the CFMA Association for many years, Connie believed in the preservation of her Cajun heritage. She took joy in being a Confirmation Instructor, sharing her faith with young minds. An adventurer at heart, Connie embraced life with enthusiasm-her passions included shopping and painting, but it was her love for music and the outdoors that truly defined her spirit. She found joy in watching birds, traveling the world, and connecting with those around her, earning the affectionate title of "social butterfly." In her quiet moments, Connie enjoyed delving into genealogy, tracing the stories of her family's past with a devoted heart.
As we celebrate the remarkable life of Connie Marie Thomassee, let us remember her for the love she gave, the friendships she fostered, and the perseverance that inspired all who knew her. Her memory will live on in the hearts of her family and friends forever.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to the staff of J Michael Morrow Nursing Home for the care and compassion that was given to their loved one.
"I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. Now there is in store for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will award to me on that day - and not only to me, but also to all who have longed for his appearing."
