Lafayette - Funeral services will be held at 10 a .m. , on Thursday, March 10, 2011 , at Christ the King Catholic Church in Lafayette , for Curnis Joseph White, Sr., 74, who passed away on Saturday, March 5, 2011 at his residence. Entombment will follow at St. Bernard Mausoleum No. 2 in Breaux Bridge . A requiem mass will be offered by Fr. Francis Miller, OFM. Curnis was a member of the L.C.P.A. - West. He enjoyed raising show chickens, crawfishing, gardening, riding his boat, telling stories and spending time with his grandchildren. Curnis was married to his wife, Mary for 53 years. He was a good father, husband, brother and friend to all. Survivors include his wife, Mary M. White of Breaux Bridge; his sons, Curnis White, Jr. of Henderson, Richard White and his wife, Yolanda of Henderson and Kenneth White and his wife, Phyllis of Breaux Bridge; his daughters, Denise W. Eddy and her husband, D.J. of Breaux Bridge and Patty W. Andrus and her husband, Frank of Henderson; his sisters, Mary W. Latiolais and her husband, Roland of Henderson and Theresa W. Guilbeau and her husband, Walter of Arnaudville; his grandchildren, Ashley Eddy, Chris Reynolds, Blake Eddy, Kayla White, William White, Jennifer White, Anna Eddy, Michael Eddy, Forrest White, Emily Eddy and Patrick Eddy; and his great grandchildren, Amelia Eddy and Ava Richard. He was preceded in death by his parents, Noe and Adelia Hayes White; and his brother, Adley White. The family requests that visiting hours be observed from 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, March 9, 2011 until 9:00 a.m. on Thursday. Pallbearers will be Kenneth White, Richard White, William White, Forrest White, Christopher Reynolds and Michael Eddy. Honorary pallbearers will be Roland Latiolais, Sonny White and D.J. Eddy. Pellerin Funeral Home of Henderson is in charge of arrangements.
