Breaux Bridge - A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 am, on Saturday, April 23, 2016, at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Breaux Bridge, for Daisy Marie Sylvester, 90, who passed away on Wednesday, April 13, 2016, at St. Martin Hospital. The family requests that visiting hours be observed at the funeral home in Breaux Bridge from 7:00 am until 10:00 am on Saturday, April 23, 2016. A rosary will be prayed at 8:00 am on Saturday. Rev. Joseph Campion will officiate at the Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will follow at St. Francis of Assisi Cemetery in Breaux Bridge. Daisy loved to have family gatherings, play bingo, and go to the casino. She enjoyed attending church and loved her Catholic Religious faith. She is survived by her sons, Joseph Sylvester and wife Lisa, Harry Sylvester, Jr., Carol Sylvester and wife Joanne, Clarence Sylvester and wife Melinda, and Nelson Sylvester and wife Rebbeca; daughters, Genevia Fontenette and husband Leander, Shirley Jones and husband Alvin, Louanna Sampy and husband Dary, Mary Abrams and husband Billy; 24 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great grandchildren; and sisters, Thelma Celestine, Beatrice Derouselle, and Rose Noel. She was preceded in death by her husband, Harry Sylvester; daughter, Orma Jean Ambrose; sons, Calvin Sylvester, and Leroy Sylvester; parents, Henry and Antonia Noel Alex; and brothers Authur Alex and Dalton Alex. Pallbearers will be Troy Sampy, Julius Sylvester, Dary Sampy Jr., Sylvan Sylvester, Brian Sampy, and Donald Ray Noel. Honorary pallbearers will be Joseph Sylvester, Carol Sylvester, Clarence Sylvester, Nelson Sylvester, Don Jayamaha, Jr., and Carlos Sylvester.
