Breaux Bridge - A Funeral Service will be held at 10:00 am, on Saturday, August 20, 2016, at Pellerin Funeral Home in Breaux Bridge, for Dalton Floyd Potts, 90, who passed away on Thursday, August 11, 2016, at Maison de Lafayette.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed at the funeral home from 4:00 pm until 9:00 pm on Friday and continue Saturday from 7:00 am until 10:00 am.
Preacher Bryan Kirby will officiate at the Funeral Service. Interment will follow at St. Bernard Cemetery No. 2 in Breaux Bridge.
Mr. Potts was a veteran of the United States Navy, honorably and proudly serving his country during WWII. He was a member of various organizations including the V.F.W., American Legion, and the Crawfish Camper's Club.
Mr. Potts was an avid fisherman and taught individuals throughout the community how to fly airplanes. He enjoyed cooking Cajun food and spending time with family and friends. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
He is survived by his loving wife, Vivian Peal Potts; his son, Dennis Potts and wife Michelle of Atlanta, GA; his daughters, Sharon Potts Hernandez and husband Sal Hernandez Sr. of Monroe, Carol Granger of Breaux Bridge, and Deborah Potts Guidry of Breaux Bridge; brother, J.W. Potts of Zachary; eight grandchildren; fourteen great grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Leonard and Mary J. Stones Potts; and two sons- in-law, Kerney P. Granger and Clyde J. Guidry.
Pallbearers are Shane Guidry, Jeremy Granger, Donnie St. Amant, Ryan Guidry, and Salvador Hernandez Jr.
