New Iberia – Funeral services will be held at Pellerin Funeral Home at 10:00 am on Monday, December 22, 2025, for Daniel “Dan” Burgardt, 74, who passed away on Monday, December 15, 2025.
Entombment will follow in Holy Family Cemetery.
Rev. Ed Degeyter and Rev. Ryan Derouen will officiate.
Visitation will be at Pellerin Funeral Home on Monday from 8:00 am until 10:00 am.
A resident of New Iberia, Daniel “Dan” Burgardt was born in Garden City, Kansas on July 17, 1951, to the late John and Louise Frank Burgardt, and was a 1969 graduate of NISH.
Known for his diligent work ethic, Dan carved out a successful career as a supervisor in the oilfield and fabrication industry, lending his skills to Hunting Energy Service and Norris International.
Dan found joy in the great outdoors, embracing activities such as hunting and fishing, which allowed him to connect with nature and relax with family and friends. His culinary talents shone through in his love for cooking barbecue and making deer jerky, creations that became staples at family gatherings.
Dan cherished every moment spent in the company of his loved ones. His warmth and infectious spirit brought people together, creating memories that will be treasured forever.
Mr. Burgardt is survived by his loving wife, Barbara Peltier Burgardt; son, Jake Burgardt of New Iberia; daughter, Laura Burgardt Laine (Jeffrey) of Sulphur; grandsons, Coen Laine and Noble Laine; siblings, Kenneth Burgardt, Mary Smith, Joe Burgardt (Janel), Linda Mouton, and Kathy Story (Eddie); and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Carol Burgardt.
Pallbearers will be Jake Burgardt, Luke Burgardt, Braedon Berard, Robert Belaire, Jeffrey Laine, Logan Dore, and Wilson Baronet.
Dan’s love and laughter will remain in our hearts forever. May he rest in peace.
