Daniel A. Guidry, Jr.

Cecilia - Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., on Saturday, December 20, 2008, at Saint Joseph Roman Catholic Church in Cecilia, for Daniel A. Guidry, Jr., 97, who passed away on Wednesday, December 17, 2008. Interment will follow at Saint Joseph Cemetery in Cecilia. Father Paul Broussard, Pastor of Saint Joseph Church, will be the Celebrant for the Funeral Mass. Readers will be Melinda Moran and Jimmy Benoit. Evelyn St. Pierre and Kellie Domingue will serve as gift bearers. Altar servers will be Alex, Jean, Kale and Harry. Mr. Guidry was a member of the Saint Josephs Church Choir, Knights of Columbus and Civilian Conservation Corps. He loved to sing, dance, travel, and hunt and was an avid sports fan, especially Cecilia High School Football. He enjoyed working on his Model-A automobile and taking care of his animals. Mr. Guidry was a devout Roman Catholic. He enjoyed spending his time with his friends and family. Survivors include his sons, Lowell T. Guidry and his wife, Vicki of Cecilia and Danny Guidry of Lafayette; his daughters, Lynnie Taylor and her husband, Earl of Cecilia and Cabrini Benoit and her husband, Jimmy of Breaux Bridge; his grandchildren, Joe Don Guidry, Evelyn St. Pierre, Kellie Domingue and Harry Benoit; also 10 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Rose H. Guidry; his parents, Daniel A. Guidry, Sr. and Octavia Dugas Guidry; his maternal grandparents, Anastia Breaux and Fenelon A. Dugas; his paternal grandparents, Alexie Guidry and Celima Guilbeau; his daughter, Gail G. Hebert; his brothers, Alexie and Fenelon Guidry; his sisters, Denaige Bogar, Sally Smith and Lydia Friedman. The family requests that visiting hours be observed from 9:00 a.m until 10:00 p.m. on Friday and continue at 7:00 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. on Saturday. A rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. Friday. Pallbearers will be Lowell Guidry, Danny Guidry, Joe Don Guidry, Ned Guidry, Billy John Landry and Earl Taylor. Pellerin Funeral Home of Cecilia is in charge of arrangements.
