Daniel Sr. Louviere

St. Martinville - Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday, October 14, 2013, at Pellerin Funeral Home Chapel in St. Martinville, for Mr. Daniel Louviere, Sr., age 86, who passed away Friday, October 11, 2013 at Iberia Medical Center in New Iberia. The family requests that visiting hours be observed at the funeral home from 5 p.m. until 10 p.m. on Sunday, and continue on Monday at 7 a.m. until 9:45 a.m. Interment will follow at Home Mission Baptist Church Cemetery in St. Martinville. Mr. Louviere was a native of and a resident of St. Martinville, LA for over eighty years. He was an ordained Minister and faithful member of Church of Gospel Ministries in Cade, where he taught Sunday school and participated in other activities. Throughout the week one could always find him at his nursery watering trees and tending his plants. He truly found peace at his nursery as well as joy in talking to customers about the care and history behind plants. Survivors include his three sons, Daniel Louviere, Jr. (Joy), of Port Barre, LA, James Louviere (Cathy), of Silver Springs, MD and Wayne Louviere of McClean, VA; five daughters, JoAnn Linzer (Jefferson) and Mathilda Linzer of New Iberia, LA, Shirley Louviere, Margo Linzer (James) and Marjorie Chaisson of Houston, TX; two brothers Norris Louviere and Felton Louviere; three sisters Florence Johnson, Lera Mae Alexander, and Alberta Malveaux; 24 grandchildren; over 25 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Anita Mae Jones Louviere; his parents, Albert, Sr. and Ceanna Alexander Louviere; two daughters, Hazel Marie Louviere and Kathy Louviere Manuel; two grandsons, Brock Everette Manuel and Dianel Daniel Martin, three sisters, Edna Simon, Lorena Ledet, and Anita Matthews and three brothers, Enos Louviere, Hilery Louviere, Sr., and Albert Louviere, Jr. Pellerin Funeral Home, 112 New Market St., St. Martinville, LA 70582, (337.394.9121), is in charge of arrangements.
