Cecilia - A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 am, on Friday, September 13, 2013, at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Cecilia, for Darnell James Batiste, 28, who passed away on Tuesday, September 10, 2013, at Regional Medical Center of Acadiana. The family requests that visiting hours be observed from 8:00 am until 10:30 am on Friday at Pellerin Funeral Home in Cecilia. A rosary will be recited at 9:00 am on Friday. Rev. Michael Delcambre will officiate at the Funeral Mass. Scriptures will be read by Francine Gary. Gift Bearers will be Kierra and Skylar Batiste. Music will be provided by Robert Noel. Interment will follow at St. Rose of Lima Cemetery in Cecilia. Darnell enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He is survived by his mother, Patricia Batiste of Breaux Bridge; his father, Lawrence Ames of Breaux Bridge; his grandmother, Mary Batiste of Henderson; his grandfather, Leroy Ames of Cecilia; his brother, Lawrence (Tiffany) Batiste of Breaux Bridge; and his sister, Shatora Batiste of Breaux Bridge. He is preceded in death by his grandfather, Clement Batiste; grandmother, Nola Brown; two sisters, Katrina and Kristina Batiste,; and his uncle, Arthur Batiste. Pallbearers will be Shelton Ames, Willie Batiste, Cornell Benoit, Clement LeBlanc, Quincy Williams, and Moses Drake. Honorary pallbearers will be Kendrick Ames, Lee Ames, Junius Ames, Ricky Ames, Christopher Ames, and Quinton Ames. Pellerin Funeral Home of Cecilia is in charge of arrangements.
