Parks - Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., on Saturday, December 27, 2008, at St. Louis Chapel in Parks, for David James "Snyder" Dauphine, 57, who passed away on Wednesday, December 17, 2008 at St. Agnes Healthcare Rehab in Breaux Bridge.
Interment will follow at St. Francis of Assisi Cemetery in Breaux Bridge.
Fr. Steven Ugwa will officiate at the funeral Mass. Readers will be Linda Dauphine and Natalie Potier. Gift bearers will be Barbara Porter, Clarence Porter and Hilda Phillips.
David was parishioner of St. Louis Chapel in Parks and was employed as a bus driver for St. Martin Parish School System. He enjoyed driving his bus and always looked forward to a new school year to meet new children who rode on his bus route. "Snyder," as he was better known by his family and friends, also enjoyed football, softball, going on trail rides, and managing "Dauphine's Cotton Club."
Survivors include his wife, Jacqueline Lyons Dauphine, of Parks; his daughter, Heredia Ann Niobe Dauphine, of Parks; his sister, Barbara Porter, of St. Martinville; his aunt, Vera Dauphine, of Parks; and a host of nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Luetta Williams and Leroy Joseph Dauphine.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed at the funeral home on Carver Dauterive Street from 5 p.m. until 10 p.m. on Friday, December 26, 2008, and continue at 7 a.m. until 9:15 a.m. on Saturday.
A rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. on Friday.
Pallbearers will be Eddie Baltazar, Jeremy Broussard, Casey Dardar, Fred Dauphine, Joseph Dauphine, Victor Demouchette, and Shawn Lewis.
Honorary pallbearers will be Rogers Babineaux, Van Ray Baltazar, Gervis Carron, Louis Dauphine, Walter Dauphine, Mike Menard, John Williams, and Cottrell Foster.
