Delarue "Doc" Guidry

Breaux Bridge A Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 pm, on Wednesday, January 15, 2014, at Pellerin Funeral Home Chapel in Breaux Bridge, for Delarue "Doc" Guidry, 92, who passed away on Sunday, January 12, 2014, at Lafayette General Medical Center. The family requests that visiting hours be observed at the funeral home from 8:00 am until 1:45 pm on Wednesday. A Rosary will be recited at 10:30 am on Wednesday. Deacon Marcel "Butch" Hebert will officiate at the Funeral Service. Scriptures will be read by Kelly Smith and Jackie Burdin. Interment will follow at St. Bernard Cemetery No. 1 in Breaux Bridge. Doc was a generous and hardworking man who worked as a diesel mechanic on the riverboats for many years. He is survived by his nephew, Jerry John Guidry; his grandniece, Jackie Guidry Burdin; grandchild, Kelly Smith; and great grandchild, Ian Dugas. He is preceded in death by his parents, Leonard and Mary Kenny Thibodeaux Guidry; his wife, Virginia Guidry; four sisters, Mabel Taylor, Noelda Latiolais, Euphamie Guidry, and Florence Dupuis; and three brothers, Cyrus, Percy and Davis Guidry. Pallbearers will be Dean Talley, David Smith, Collin Smith, Derek Romero, Shawn Dugas, and Shaun Pitre. Pellerin Funeral Home of Breaux Bridge is in charge of arrangements.
