Denise Breaux

New Iberia - A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 AM Thursday, March 3, 2011 at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church in New Iberia for Denise Poche Breaux, 47 who went into the hands of God at 2:19 PM Sunday, February 27, 2011 at her home surrounded by her family. She passed away after a four year battle with cancer. Entombment will follow in the Holy Family Mausoleum. Rev. Mark Derise will be the Celebrant. Born on March 15, 1963 , Denise was a native and lifelong resident of New Iberia . A 1981 graduate of Mt. Carmel Academy , she then attended USL majoring in accounting. Denise retired from Iberia Medical Center after 30 years of commitment. An avid athlete, her hobbies included traveling, adventure, cooking, entertaining friends, fishing, and walking on the beach. The most important things in Denise's life were her family, friends, faith, and especially her grandkids. Survivors include her husband, Aaron Breaux of New Iberia ; parents, Donald A. and Marjorie Poche of New Iberia; son, Lance Breaux and friend Niki Dugas of New Iberia; daughter, Lindsey Breaux and companion Kent Olivier of New Iberia; sisters, Annette Pharr and husband Charlie of New Iberia, Simonne Poche of New Iberia, Patrice Fletcher and Brent Fletcher of New Iberia; mother-in-law, Earline Breaux of New Iberia; grandchildren, Chloe' Breaux, and Kenley Olivier. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Willis and Maudry Pellerin; nephew, Bradley Richardson; father-in-law, Louis J. Breaux; and a sister-in-law, Karen Blanchard. Pallbearers include Molly Douglas, Libby Mannino, Harvette Ortego, Maria Ecuyer, Stephanie Breaux, Phyllis Richard, Teresa Segura, Margaret Cunningham, Stephanie McKay, Liz Zachary, Marie Bourque, Helen Seward, Charlie Pharr, Jr., Brandon Richardson, Brock Richardson, Bryce Migues, Pat Breaux, and Bo Evans. Denise's family would like to give special thanks to Dr. James Falterman, Jr. and staff, Dr. David Rinaldi and staff, Dr. Kurt O'Brien, Dr. Perry Stokes, Dr. James Walker, the medical staff of Iberia Medical Center , M.D. Anderson, and Hospice of Acadiana.
