St. Martinville - Funeral services will be held at 9:00 AM, Saturday, June 11, 2005, at St. Martin de Tours Catholic Church in St. Martinville for Dennis Peter Hulin, 75, who died Thursday, June 9, 2005 at his residence in St. Martinville. Interment will be in St. Michael Cemetery in St. Martinville. Father Austin P. Leger, pastor of St. Martin de Tours Catholic Church will conduct the funeral services. Dennis Hulin graduated from St. Martin High School in 1947. ?In 1954, he was drafted into the army. ?He was stationed in Fort Benning, Georgia and was commissioned to the 101st ?Screaming Eagle Air Borne Division. ?He served a tour of duty in Germany with the 280th Artillery Unit and received an Honorable Discharge in 1956. ?In 1959, he started his own business, Hulin's Building Construction, specializing in building residential and commercial properties. ?He also operated two other businesses; motor home sales and service in St. Martinville and an ice cream and sandwich shop in Breaux Bridge. ?In 1983, Dennis was one of the founding organizers of First Louisiana National Bank, serving as Chairman of the Board of Directors. Dennis was an avid horseman and enjoyed owning, training, racing, and riding quarterhorses. ?He also enjoyed traveling and camping. Survivors include his wife Susie Benoit Hulin of St. Martinville; his mother Lucette Babin Hulin of St. Martinville; his daughters Toni Cade and husband Bobby of St. Martinville, Tammy Fuselier and husband Al of St. Martinville and Tia Hulin and friend Nicole Thibodeaux of Lafayette; his grandchildren Chelsea, Brittany and Haley Cade and Alex and Alexi Fuselier; one sister, Doris Broussard; and one brother, Gerald Hulin. He was preceded in death by his father Walter Hulin. The family requested that visiting hours be observed from 9:00 AM till 12:00 Midnight, Friday, June 10, 2005 and continue at 7:00 AM, Saturday, June 11, 2005 until time of service. A rosary will be recited at 8:15 PM, Friday, June 10, 2005 Pallbearers will be David Theriot, Gaylon Champagne, Murphy Champagne, Clayt Hulin, Shawn Hulin and Chase Champagne. Pellerin Funeral Home of St. Martinville is in charge of arrangements.
