Dewey Louviere

New Iberia - A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 2:30 PM Monday, April 15, 2013 at St. Peter Catholic Church in New Iberia for Dewey Louviere, 84, who died Saturday, April 13, 2013, in New Iberia. Entombment will follow in Holy Family Cemetery. Rev. Charles Langlois will be the Celebrant. A gathering of family and friends will be Sunday from 3:30 PM until 9:00 PM at Pellerin Funeral Home in New Iberia. A rosary will be prayed at 6:30 PM Sunday. Visitation will continue Monday from 8:00 AM until 2:00 PM. A native and lifelong resident of New Iberia, Mr. Louviere was born on April 30, 1928, and was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force. His hobbies included fishing, hunting, gardening, and taking care of his yard. He is survived by his daughters, Rosalind Louviere of Jeanerette, Desiree Pourciau and husband Loren of New Iberia, Paulet Rivet and husband Kurt of New Iberia; brother, Cleve Louviere of Walker; five grandchildren, Ben Prince and wife Beth of New Iberia, Emmy Judice and husband Clint of Franklin, Drew Prince and wife Sarah of Jeanerette, Peyton Pourciau and wife Courtenae of New Iberia, Victoria Pourciau of New Iberia; 7 great grandchildren and two due to arrive any moment. He was preceded in death by his wife of 65 years, Ethel LaBiche Louviere; parents, Loudice and Victoria Bouton Louviere; brothers, Robert Louviere, Wallace Louviere, Sidney Louviere, Noe Louviere, Leroy Louviere; sister, Irene Delahoussaye. Pallbearers include Ben Prince, Drew Prince, Peyton Pourciau, Kurt Rivet, Loren Pourciau, and Clint Judice.
