Breaux Bridge A Funeral Service will be held at 1:00 pm, on Saturday, May 24, 2014, at Pellerin Funeral Home Chapel in Breaux Bridge, for Dickie D. Davitt, Jr., 57, who passed away on Thursday, May 22, 2014. The family requests that visiting hours be observed at the funeral home from 9:30 am until 9:00 pm on Friday, and continue at 8:00 am until 12:45 pm on Saturday. Pastor Jeff Ables will officiate at the Funeral Service and a Eulogy will be given by Hubert Augustine. Entombment will follow at St. Bernard Mausoleum - No. 2 in Breaux Bridge. Dickie was a Police Officer and Detective with the Breaux Bridge City Police Department for 23 years. He loved his job and his family they were the biggest part of his life. Dickie was an avid fan of the New Orleans Saints he loved watching football, playing Horse Shoes, Croquet, and cards and enjoyed watching old Westerns and Survivor on TV with his soul mate. He especially enjoyed playing with his grandkids, whom he adored. He is survived by his mother, Mary Anderson of Baker; his wife, Elvinia Johnson of Breaux Bridge; his son, Dustin Davitt and girlfriend, Brooklyn Benoit of Breaux Bridge; two daughters, Alexandra D. Taylor and husband, Gary, of Parks, and Megan Davitt and fianc, Dustin Buckner, of Breaux Bridge; six brothers, Gene (Carol) Riley of Mandeville, Charlie (Linda) Anderson of Breaux Bridge, George (Karen) Anderson, Jr. of Breaux Bridge, Salvador (Rebecca) Anderson of Parks, Troy Davitt of Tickfaw, and Michael Davitt of New Orleans; three sisters, Mary Lou D. Guerrero of Baker, Shelley (Ben) Walker of Ponchatoula, and Helen (Trent) Watts of Central; and six grandchildren, Makenzie Taylor of Parks, London Davitt of Breaux Bridge, Arielle Taylor of Parks, Xander Buckner, Taegan Buckner, and Paris Davitt, all of Breaux Bridge. He is preceded in death by his father, Dickie Dan Davitt Sr.; his step father, George Ernest Andrew Anderson, Sr.; and a daughter, May Davitt. Pallbearers will be Dustin Davitt, George Anderson, III, Dustin Buckner, Nick Anderson, Jeremy Robert, and Daniel Robert.
