Dolores Segura Peltier

New Iberia – A Funeral Service will be held at 10:00 am, on Thursday, May 4, 2023, at Pellerin Funeral Home, for Dolores Segura Peltier, 91, who passed away on Monday, May 1, 2023.

Entombment will follow in the Nativity of Our Lady Mausoleum.

Rev. Ed Degeyter will officiate.

Visitation will be Wednesday, from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Pellerin Funeral Home, and will continue Thursday, from 8:00 am until 10:00 am. A rosary, led by the Nativity of Our Lady Rosary Group, will be prayed at 6:00 pm Wednesday.

Mrs. Peltier, a native and lifelong resident of New Iberia, was born on March 25, 1932, to the late Sidney and Helen Toutcheque Segura. A devout Catholic, she was very active in her church, Nativity of Our Lady Catholic Church, serving as a Eucharistic minister, decoration coordinator for many years, singing in the church choir, and in many other areas of the church. Mrs. Peltier was an avid Bridge player and a great hostess. She also enjoyed gardening, birdwatching, finding new recipes, cooking, and having family gatherings for all occasions.

Survivors include her children, Barbara P. Burgardt (Dan), Mike Peltier (Pam), Helen P. Brierre, and Kathy P. Berard; sisters, Juanita S. Boudreaux, and Nell S. Duplantis; grandchildren, Jake Burgardt (Lisa), Laura Lanie (Jeffrey), Tina Broussard (Johnny), Angela Morris (Seth), Cristen Voorhies (Alexis), Derek Peltier (fiancé, Rebekka), Tony Berard, Jennifer Berard (Braedon), Robert Belaire, Emily Baronet (Wilson); and 11 great grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 66 years, Louis C. Peltier; a son, Anthony Peltier; and a brother, S. J. Segura, Jr.

Pallbearers will be Jake Burgardt, Robert Belaire, Alexis Voorhies, Andrew Berard, Reed Morris, and Braedon Berard.

Honorary pallbearers include Tony Berard and Derek Peltier.
