Catahoula - A Funeral Service will be held at 5:00 PM, on Sunday, February 12, 2023, at Dion Hall for Donney Paul LeBlanc, 51, who passed away at his residence on Wednesday, February 8, 2023.

A visitation will take place at Dion Hall in Catahoula on Saturday, from 10:00 AM and will continue until the time of service at 5:00 PM, on Sunday.

A eulogy will be said at 7:00 PM on Saturday, by his uncle, Alvin "Blackie" Guidry.

Rev. Bill Melancon will officiate at the funeral service. Interment will follow at a later date.

Donney Paul LeBlanc was born on December 26, 1971, in New Iberia. He was a commercial fisherman and an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting and fishing. Donney loved to cook and visit with his family and friends. He especially loved his furry best friend, his dog, "Moonshine." He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

He is survived by his companion of 11 years, Joan Blanchard; mother, Zoe Guidry; father, Benny LeBlanc (Michelle); children, Jayd LeBlanc (Brad), Ty LeBlanc (Brooke), and Bailey LeBlanc; step-daughter Madison Reed (Bob); grandchildren, Alayna, Piper, Rosalie, and Everly; godson, Tory Joubert; siblings, Victoria Courville, Tiffany Borres, Donald Courville, Jr., Bradley LeBlanc, and Kala Guichard; and his birth father, Donald Courville, Sr.

He is preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Tuney LeBlanc and Joyce Champagne; maternal grandparents, Leopold and Euline Guidry; uncle, Barry LeBlanc; aunts, Carol G. Vasseur and Isabella "Belle" Guidry; cousin, Michael "Bubba" Reed; and his in-laws, Allen and Cynthia Blanchard.

Pallbearers will be Ty LeBlanc, Bob Reed, Benny LeBlanc, Lurvin Patin, Devin Patin, and Donald "T-Don" Poirier.

Honorary pallbearers will be Steve Broussard, David Buford, Alvin Guidry, Orie Granger, Jacob Guidry, Tyler Moore, and Tory Joubert.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to Pallative Medicine of Acadiana and Hospice of Acadiana for the care given to Donney.
