Doris Derise Lancon

St. Martinville - A Memorial Service will be held at 10:00 am on Tuesday, April 2, 2024 at Pellerin Funeral Home in St. Martinville for Doris Derise Lancon, 97, who passed away on Monday, March 25, 2024 at Iberia Medical Center. 

A visitation will take place at the funeral home in St. Martinville on Tuesday from 8:00 am until the time of service at 10:00 am. 

Father Ed Degeyter will officiate the Memorial Service. Inurnment will follow at St. Michael Cemetery Mausoleum in St. Martinville. 

Doris was a devout Catholic and a devoted member of the Catholic Daughters. She gave majority of her years to being a loving wife and mother, until she decided to return to school to become a Registered Nurse. Doris loved the time she spent as a nurse at the St. Martinville Infirmary. One of her greatest joys was to go on daily walks with her husband, Stanley. She also enjoyed reading, dancing, Cajun music and her beloved fur babies. Doris will be remembered for being friendly, caring and strong, as well as a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. 

She is survived by her husband of 73 years, Stanley Lancon; sons, Stanley M. Lancon (Tonya), David L. Lancon (Carole), Clay P. Lancon (Steve) and Matthew E. Lancon; daughters, Arlette L. Talley (Terry) and Annette L. Kilchrist (David); 9 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and sister-in-law, Darlene Derise. 

She is preceded in death by her granddaughters, Samantha Lancon and Catrice Lancon; great-granddaughter, Madison Latiolais; daughter-in-law, Leslie Lancon; parents, Dorville Derise and Natalie Hebert Derise; brothers, George Derise and Alton Derise; and sisters, Betty Green, Valerie Legnon and Edvidge Trahan.
