Doris Theriot Melancon

St. Martinville - A Funeral Service will be held at 1:30 pm on Thursday, June 9, 2022, at Pellerin Funeral Home in St. Martinville for Doris Theriot Melancon, 85, who passed away on Thursday, June 2, 2022.

The family requests that visiting hours be observed at the funeral home in St. Martinville from 2:30 pm until 9:00 pm on Wednesday and continue on Thursday at 8:00 am until 1:30 pm.

A rosary will be prayed at 7:00 pm on Wednesday by Father Bill Melancon.

Rev. Bill Melancon will officiate at the Funeral Service.

Doris was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great grandmother, and sister. She enjoyed cooking, playing Bingo and spending time with her grandchildren. Doris loved to go dancing, especially with her husband. She also loved to spend her time watching old western movies, The Young and The Restless, and sitting outside on her porch. Doris will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

She is survived by her daughters, Jean Boudreaux (Gary) and Sarah Bonin (Alvin); sons, Michael Rene Melancon Sr. (Janice), Antoine "Tony" Melancon, Jr. (Jackie) and Paul Melancon (Kathy); sister, Margaret Guilbeaux; grandchildren, Michael Melancon, Jr., Chelsea Melancon, Melvin Curtis, Jeremy Bonin, Stacey Murff, Gary Boudreaux, Jr., Tina Romero, Amy M. Hebert, Antoine "Tony"  Melancon, III, Vanessa Castaneda, Josh Melancon and Holly Boudreaux; great-grandchildren, Colby Jagneaux, Jade Melancon, Ross Melancon, Chloe Hebert, Jonah Hebert, Lily  Hebert, Rabekah Hebert, Brianna Kately, Lyndsey Trahan, Jada  Boudreaux, Ayden Romero, Jordan Romero, Paisley Romero, Olivia Boudreaux, William Boudreaux, Brylen Bonin, Alex Castaneda, Jake Castaneda, Jalena Castaneda, Mia Curtis and Mya Curtis; and great-great-grandchildren, Dexton Kately and Haven Kately.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Antoine Melancon, Sr.; daughter, Mary Ann Melancon; grandchild, Jordan Bonin; great-great grandchild, Madison Marie Romero; parents, Elphege Theriot and Lita Meaux Theriot; brothers, Jim Theriot and Dennis Theriot; and sister, Loula Mae Begnaud.

Honorary pallbearers will be Michael Rene Melancon Sr., Antoine "Tony" Melancon, Jr., Paul Melancon, Gary Boudreaux, Jr., Josh Melancon, Alvin Bonin, Gary Boudreaux, Sr., and Adam Romero.
