Dorothy "Dot" Boudreaux

New Iberia – A memorial service will be held at Pellerin Funeral Home at 2:00 pm on Sunday, July 14, 2024, for Dorothy “Dot” Boudreaux, 68, who passed away on Thursday, July 4, 2024. 

Deacon Durk Viator will officiate. 

Visitation will be at Pellerin Funeral Home from 9:00 am until 2:00 pm on Sunday. 

A rosary, led by the Men’s Rosary Group, will be prayed at 1:00 pm on Sunday. 

Dorothy "Dot" Boudreaux, a beloved soul who touched the hearts of many, was born on June 21, 1956, to the late O’Neil and Louisiana Gonzales Boudreaux. She was a dedicated housekeeper for many years, known for her unwavering work ethic and warm smile. 

Dot was a woman who knew how to truly embrace life. She had a deep love for dancing and could often be found twirling to the melodies of zydeco and French music. Her laughter and joy were contagious, lighting up any room she entered. Dot's passion for life extended to her hobbies; she enjoyed playing bingo and testing her luck at Cypress Bayou Casino. However, it was in the kitchen where Dot truly shone. A talented cook with a heart as big as her portions, she never failed to amaze her loved ones with delicious meals, which were always enough to feed an army! 

Above all else, family was the cornerstone of Dot's existence. She cherished moments spent with her loved ones and created countless memories that will be treasured forever. 

Dot is survived by her loving daughter, Amber Coughlin (Ray); two grandchildren, Emery and Avery Coughlin; siblings, Rose Couvillier, Robert Trahan (Margaret), Gerald Trahan (Betty), and Gloria Viator (Ovey); half- brother, Donald Boudreaux; and best friends, Mary Dupuy and Janice Gross. 

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by siblings, Nolan Trahan, Donald Trahan, Barbara Hulse, Jimmy Trahan, and Huey Trahan; half-sister, Geraldine Guillot; and close friends, Jessica Guidry and Dora Meyers.

Dot will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her. May she rest in peace.
