Duane J. Perero

Rynella A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 AM Saturday, February 8, 2014 at St. Marcellus Catholic Church in Rynella for Duane J. Perero, 56, who died Sunday, January 26, 2014, in Lafayette. Interment will be at a later date. Rev. Eugene Tremie will be the Celebrant. A gathering of family and friends will be Saturday from 9:00 AM until 10:00 AM at the church. A native and lifelong resident of New Iberia, Duane was born on March 15, 1957, and was a 1975 graduate of New Iberia Senior High. He proudly served our country in the U.S. Army National Guard, and was owner of D & D Landscaping and Construction, a family business. An avid hunter, Duane was a family oriented, honest, hardworking, and easy going person, who enjoyed loved spending time with his family. Survivors include his wife of 30 years, Diane Copell Perero of New Iberia; father, Huey Perero and wife Carolyn of Coteau; children, Duane Perero, Jr. and wife Shawnie of New Iberia, Nicole Perero Methvin and husband Ronald of Thibodaux, Beau Perero and wife Tiffiny of Youngsville; sisters, Kristi P. Broussard and husband Kevin of New Iberia, Paula S. Romero and husband Keith of Broussard, Gabby Perero of Coteau, Lona Perero Derouen of Coteau; brother, Steven Perero; and five grandchildren, Braedon Methvin, Rylee Methvin, Nash Perero, Caydon Perero, and Emmitt Perero. He was preceded in death by his mother, Lorraine Lancon; brothers, Dennis Perero, Carl Simon; and step mother, Audrey Talley.
