Breaux Bridge - A Memorial Service will be held at 3 p.m. , on Sunday, February 6, 2011 , at Teche Baptist Church in Breaux Bridge , for Dudley Lamar New, 72, who passed away on Wednesday, February 2, 2011 at his residence. Pastor Joe Jenkins will officiate at the service. Dudley was a veteran of the United States Air Force, having honorably served his country from June 20, 1956 to May 4, 1959 . He was a God-fearing Christian man who, in his free time, enjoyed fishing and hunting, as well as repairing anything around his home, such as appliances and small engines. Survivors include his wife, Ethel D. New of St. Martinville; one son, Daniel New of Nevada; two daughters, Tina New and Lori Morris and her husband, Allen, all of Nevada; two brothers, Truman New and his wife, Alice, of Tyler, TX, and Charles New and his wife, Anna Mae, of Breaux Bridge; two sisters, Cora New Lasseigne and her husband, Larry, of Oxford, AL, and Louise New Lejeune and her husband, Terry, of Breaux Bridge; seven grandchildren, Jenifer Bonsell, Yousef Smadi, Intesar Smadi, Becker Smadi, James Buras, Leah Morris, and Selena Morris; and two great grandchildren, Draven Buras and James Bonsell. He was preceded in death by his parents, Elmer Lee and Myra Marshall New; and his brother, James L. New. Pellerin Funeral Home, (337.332.2111) is in charge of arrangements.
