Edith Marie LeBlanc Melancon

Henderson - Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., on Tuesday, April 1, 2008, at Pellerin Funeral Home in Henderson, for Edith Marie LeBlanc Melancon, 85, who passed away on Sunday, March 30, 2008 at her residence in Breaux Bridge. Interment will follow at St. Michael Cemetery in Henderson. Fr. Chanh Nguyen, pastor of Our Lady of Mercy Church, will conduct the services. Edith will be greatly missed for her cooking and baking. She loved taking care of Ricky, the joy of her life, along with the rest of her family. Survivors include her sons, Ellis James Melancon, Sr. and his wife, Jean, Francis Melancon and his wife, Paula, Michael Melancon and his companion, Yvonne Trahan, Darrell J. Melancon and his wife, Pamela, and Ricky Melancon, all of Breaux Bridge; her daughter, Renella M. Boudreaux, of Breaux Bridge; her brother, Preston LeBlanc, of Plaquemine; 13 grandchildren; 29 great grandchildren; and 3 great-great grandchildren She was preceded in death by her parents, Preston and Anna LeBlanc; her husband, Joseph Ramsey Melancon; her son, Thomas Henry Melancon; her brother, Harris LeBlanc; her sister, Ophelia Frederick; and her grandson, Brent Melancon. The family requests that visiting hours be observed from 9:00 a.m.until time of service on Tuesday, April 1, 2008. A rosary will be recited at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday. Pallbearers will be Ellis Melancon, Michael Melancon, Francis Melancon, Darrell Melancon, Jimmie Melancon and Paul Harvey Johnson. Honorary pallbearers will be Ricky Melancon, E.J. Melancon and Robert Boudreaux. Pellerin Funeral Home of Henderson is in charge of arrangements.
