Edmonia Dugas Borel

Catahoula Funeral Services will be held at 1:30 pm, on Sunday, December 1, 2013, at St. Rita Catholic Church in Catahoula, for Edmonia Dugas Borel, 81, who passed away on Friday, November 29, 2013. The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Dion Hall in Catahoula from 10:30 am until 10:00 pm on Saturday and continue at 8:30 am until 1:00 pm on Sunday. A rosary will be recited at 6:30 pm on Saturday. Rev. Richard Fabre will officiate at the Funeral Service. Music will be by Helen Boudreaux. Interment will follow at Our Lady of the Lake Cemetery in Catahoula. Mrs. Borel peeled crawfish to pass her time. She enjoyed reading, family reunions, family get togethers, dancing, horse races, Bingo for benefits, playing cards and going to the Casino. She is survived by her husband, Septieme Borel; her son, Ronald Borel (Sandra Albert Borel); her daughter, Susan Borel Doucet (Alexandre Doucet, Jr.); her brother, Aldus Dugas, Jr. (Charlene Vicknair); her sisters, Bernadette D. Courville, Laurence D. Latiolais, Anna Mae D. Blanchard (Roy), Elsie D. Blanchard (Charles), Lorena D. Dugas, Linda D. Rader (Charles), Peggy D. Randazzo (Keith); her grandchildren, Sonya B. Richard, Josette D. Derouen, Sandy B. Frederick, Sharon B. Perry, Shawn B. Guidry, and Savannah B. LeBlanc; her great-grandchildren, Sosha, Sierra, and Skylar Richard, Destiny Sonnier, Cameron Derouen, Lauren, Dylan and Kyle Frederick, Jordan, Shelbi and Landon Guidry, Sydni Borel, Trey and Ryan Perry, Sarae, Samantha and Branson LeBlanc; her great-great-grandchildren, Hayden Guidry, Chase Brasseaux, Jr. and Baby Brasseaux. She is preceded in death by her father, Aldus Dugas, Sr.; her mother, Edolia Noel Dugas; her step-mother, Lorena Bourque Dugas; her grandson, Ryan J. Borel; her brothers, Alvin Dugas and Daniel Dugas; and her sisters, Mabel D. Bourque and Antonia D. Bourque. Pallbearers will be Sonya B. Richard, Josette D. Derouen, Sandy B. Frederick, Shawn B.
