New Iberia - Funeral services will be at 10:00 AM , Monday, May 30, 2011 , at Pellerin Funeral Home in New Iberia, for Edmund 'Buddy' Rose Jr, 81, who passed away on Thursday, May 26, 2011 in New Iberia . Interment will follow in Rosehill Cemetery . Rev. Ed Degeyter will officiate. Born on July 5, 1929 in Loreauville, Mr. Rose was an Eagle Scout, and a graduate of St. Peters College and Tulane University . He was the owner of Rose Dental Company, and was active in many business and professional organizations. Survivors include his wife Earline Richard Rose of New Iberia; son, Ed Rose of Lafayette; daughters, Melissa Rose Sale and husband Austin of New Iberia, Leah Rose Eumont and husband Jack of New Orleans; grandchildren, Lindsey Sale Desormeaux and husband Michael of Lafayette, Elliot Sale of New Iberia, Edmund Rose of Lafayette, Jennifer Rose of New Iberia, Meredith Eumont of New Orleans, John Eumont of New Orleans, Elizabeth Eumont of New Orleans; great grandson, Thomas Desormeaux. He was preceded in death by his parents, Edmund and Lylia Oubre Rose. Pallbearers will be Elliot Sale, Edmund Rose, John Eumont, Michael Desormeaux, Dr. Jay Halphen, and Donald Richard. Memorial contributions may be made to the Catholic High Athletic Fund, or to Heart of Hospice. A gathering of family and friends will be Sunday from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Pellerin Funeral Home, 502 Jefferson Terrace Blvd , in New Iberia . A rosary will be prayed at 6:00 PM Sunday.
