Parks - A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 am, on Thursday, August 18, 2016, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Parks, for Edward Charles Bouchereau, Jr., 86, who passed away on Friday, August 12, 2016, at St. Agnes Healthcare & Rehab Center.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed from 4:30 pm until 9:00 pm on Wednesday, and continue on Thursday at 8:00 am until 9:15 am, at Pellerin Funeral Home in Breaux Bridge.
A rosary will be prayed at 7:00 pm on Wednesday.
Fr. Donovan Labb will officiate at the Funeral Mass. Readers will be Therese Bouchereau, Michael Bouchereau, and Vincent Bouchereau. Gift bearers will be Katie Bouchereau, Phoenix Myers and Rhiannon Bouchereau.
Interment will follow at St. Nicholas Cemetery in Patoutville.
Edward honorably served his country in the United States Air Force. He was a typical Louisiana sportsman, who had a great passion for fishing and hunting. During his younger years, Edward was active throughout the community as a Boy Scout leader, when his boys were younger. He was involved in church ministries in many different church parishes, especially at St. Nicholas Catholic Church in Lydia. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him, especially his family.
He is survived by his loving wife, Phyllis Chatelain Bouchereau; his sons, Vincent Bouchereau and wife Amanda, Michael Bouchereau and wife Pixan, and Forrest Bouchereau and wife Jerry; his daughters, Therese Bouchereau, Mary Bouchereau Najera, and Christine Bouchereau Trenchard and husband James; his brother, George Bouchereau; his sister, Martha Prudhomme and husband Bill; 17 grandchildren, Gregory Paul Bouchereau, Eddie Bouchereau, Katie Bouchereau, Matthew Bouchereau, Nicholas Bouchereau, Austin Bouchereau, Dillon Bouchereau, Alex Slagle, Christian Slagle, Zachary Bouchereau, Micah Whalen, Ethan Najera, Trent Najera, Teresa Najera, Rhiannon Myers, Phoenix Myers, and Xian Myers; and 2 great grandchildren, Aiden Johnson and Ash Bouchereau.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Edward Charles and Marguerite Bouchereau, Sr.; a son, Gregory John Bouchereau; brothers, William "Billy" Bouchereau and Ronald Bouchereau; his step mother, Geraldine Sterkins Bouchereau; and his son-in-law, Frank Najera.
Pallbearers will be Eddie Bouchereau, Matthew Bouchereau, Nicholas Bouchereau, Austin Bouchereau, Alex Slagle, and Christian Slagle.
Honorary pallbearers will be Forrest Bouchereau, Gregory Paul Bouchereau, Xian Myers, and Dillon Bouchereau.
