Breaux Bridge - Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. , on Wednesday, March 2, 2011 , at St. Bernard Catholic Church in Breaux Bridge , for Electa Patin Barras, 93, who passed away on Sunday, February 27, 2011 at her residence. Interment will follow at St. Bernard Cemetery No. 2 in Breaux Bridge . Fr. Ed Degeyter, will conduct the services. Readers will be Angela Delahoussaye and Julia Nicole Castille. Electa was a loving and devoted Mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and great great grandmother. She never let a day go by without telling her family that she loved them. What she loved the most in the world was spending time with her family and friends who lovingly knew her as 'Momit'. At 93 she was still trying to take care of her family, making biscuits every Sunday morning, making coffee at 4 oclock every day and making a birthday cake for each of her children, her sons in law and her daughters in law. She loved playing cards and watching movies. She will be dearly missed by her family and everyone who had the good fortune of meeting her. Survivors include her sons, Jerry Castille and his wife, Jean McLemore, Larry Castille and his wife, Mary Degeyter, and Dicky Castille and his wife, Wanda Broussard all of Breaux Bridge; her daughters, Linda Boudreaux and her husband, Darrell, Diana Delahoussaye and her husband, Tommy, and Genny Legrand and her husband, C. J. all of Breaux Bridge, and Nancy Talley and her husband, Lawrence of Lafayette; her step children, Garland Barras and his wife Donna and Verby Castille; her 23 grandchildren; her 5 step grand children; her 38 great grandchildren; and 9 great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Sosthene and Idia Legrand Patin; her 1st husband, Elie Castille; her 2nd husband, Wilcliff Barras; her brothers, Anecess, Joseph Kingsley, Cabel, Howard, Milton and George Patin; her sisters, Theresa P. Melancon, Ophelia P. Angelle, Amelia P. Guidry, Herasie P. Patin, Agnes P. Boudreaux and Mary P. Dermenstein; her grandson, Albert Sostene Castille; and her great grandson, Tyler Mickel LeBlanc. The family requests that visiting hours be observed from 10 a.m. until 9 p.m. on Tuesday and continue at 9 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday. A rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Pallbearers will be Jerry Castille, Jr., Joey Boudreaux, John Castille, Jr., Dale Breaux, Shane Castille, and Matthew Talley. Honorary pallbearers will be her grandchildren.
