Elizabeth "Betty" LeBlanc

New Iberia – Memorial services will be held at 11:00 am on Wednesday, August 6, 2025, at Episcopal Church of the Epiphany for Elizabeth “Betty” Beane LeBlanc, 78, who passed away on Monday, July 28, 2025, at her home. Inurnment will follow in the Epiphany Columbarium.

The Rev. Ann Brown Etheredge will officiate.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm, at Pellerin Funeral Home, and will continue Wednesday at the Episcopal Church of the Epiphany, from 9:30 am until time of service.

Elizabeth “Betty” Bias Beane LeBlanc was born in New Albany, Mississippi on August 4, 1946, to the late Warwick Bias Beane and Eugenia Northcross Beane. She grew up in north Mississippi, graduated from Tupelo High School, then attended Ole Miss and the University of Southern Mississippi. Marriage to Clayton Pederson, who was a Green Beret in the U.S. Army, meant living in many states, including nearly two years in Panama. When he returned from the Vietnam War, Clayton and Betty settled in California for 28 years, where they raised their family. During that time, Betty finished her education with a degree in Interior Design. A move to San Diego allowed for a career change, and Betty went to work for FedEx as a Global Service Analyst for the next 25 years. In 1993, she left California to live in Covington, Louisiana to be closer to her mother, who resided in Hattiesburg. It was during this time that she met Wilson LeBlanc and moved to New Iberia. They were married in 2003, and Betty became very active in the community. As a member of the Episcopal Church of the Epiphany, she served on the Vestry, as President of the Board at Solomon House, and served on the board of Epiphany Day School. Betty loved her garden club and was an officer for 10 years. She chaired Service to Veterans for the local chapter of D.A.R. and as an officer for Civil War Round Table of Acadiana. Betty was proud to be a member of Fortnightly V.

Mrs. LeBlanc is survived by her loving husband of 22 years, Wilson A. LeBlanc, Sr.; son, Clayton H. Pederson, Jr.; daughter, Jaden Pederson Taylor (Richard); stepchildren, Breigh Foster (Jason), David LeBlanc (Alita), and Wilson “Andy” LeBlanc, Jr. (Dianne); grandchildren, Andrew LeBlanc (Katie), Aiden LeBlanc, Jackson Foster, Matthew Albert (Haley), Christina Menard (Dylan) and Adrian Albert; great grandchildren, Kathryn Albert, Camille Albert, John Paul LeBlanc, and Eric LeBlanc; brother, Warwick “Wick” Beane (Kim); sister, Jamie Joyner (Ernie); and friend, Michele Lombardo.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Episcopal Church of the Epiphany or Soloman House.

Betty’s kind soul and generous spirit will be deeply missed. May she rest in peace.
