Ella Guidry

Arnaudville- Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., on Saturday, February 5, 2011, at St. John Francis Regis Catholic Church in Arnaudville, for Ella Montet Guidry, 87, who passed away on Thursday, February 3, 2011 at Opelousas General Medical Center in Opelousas. Interment will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery in Cecilia. Father Keith Domingue of Leonville will officiate at the Funeral Mass assisted by Deacon Ken Arnaud. Scriptures will be read by Raquel Champagne and Brandy Gravouilla. Gift Bearers will be Casey Babb, Michael Meche, and Dusty LeBlanc. Mrs. Guidry was a parishioner of St. John Francis Regis Church and a member of the Ladies Altar Society. She enjoyed nurturing her children and preparing them for their lives. She also enjoyed cooking for her family, talking on the phone, and reading, especially her scriptures. Ella will long be remembered for her dedication to her family and the love she gave to them and others, as well. They will forever remember the vision of joy in her gentle smile and friendly wave, while sitting in her rocker on her front porch. Survivors include seven sons, Leland Guidry, Sr. and wife, Sue, of Lafayette, Chester Guidry and wife, Yvonne, of Breaux Bridge, Maurice Guidry of Arnaudville, Frank Guidry, Jr. and wife, Jackie, of Arnaudville, Russell Guidry and wife, Becky, of Port Barre, Francis Guidry and wife, Toni, of Cecilia, William Guidry and wife, Consuella, of Breaux Bridge; six daughters, Lena Richard and husband, Earl, of Arnaudville, Joyce Guidry of Arnaudville, Lucy LeBlanc and husband, Brent, of Arnaudville, Sylvia Guidry of Arnaudville, Aline Broussard and husband, Bryant, of Cecilia, and Kathy Meche and husband, Brian, of Arnaudville; 20 grandchildren; 25 great grandchildren; and 2 great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank Guidry, Sr.; two sons, Jerry and Ronald Guidry; two grandchildren, Stacey Richard and Dylon Guidry; a great grandchild, Caleb Robin; and her parents, Cyprien and Angelina Kidder Montet. The family requests that visiting hours be observed from 11 a.m. until 10 p.m. on Friday and continue on Saturday at 7 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. Pallbearers will be Chester Guidry, Maurice Guidry, Frank Guidry, Jr., Russell Guidry, Francis Guidry, William Guidry, and Leland Guidry, Sr. Pellerin Funeral Homeof Arnaudvilleis in charge of arrangements.
